ALTAR SERVING
WELCOME!
This exceptionally rewarding ministry calls for a strong commitment to service. Altar servers assist the priest and deacon at liturgical celebrations. The “Ministry of Altar” is open to all children, men and women who attend Mass and are in good standing in the Parish. This ministry offers an excellent opportunity to be an active part of the Liturgy of the Eucharist and other liturgical celebrations.
Altar Server training classes for the youth (4th-12th Graders) of our group are held every summer. Please check the bulletin towards the end of May each year to get information about how to join the classes.
Altar Server training classes for adults (18+) of our group are held through out the year. Please email us to get information about how to join the classes.

A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT ALTAR SERVING:
Altar Servers responsibilities usually begin 20 minutes before all Masses. Servers are responsible for the preparation of the sacred vessels, the linens, the books, and any other items needed for the celebration of the Mass. The assigned servers lead the entrance and recessional processions and serve the priest throughout the Mass. Servers are responsible for cleanup of sacred vessels, extinguishing candles and setup of sacred vessels before the next scheduled Mass. This normally takes a little over 10 minutes after Mass. This exceptionally rewarding ministry calls for a strong commitment to service.
